The April 23, 2005 the first video website YouTube, called "Me at the Zoo" is up. The video, less than 20 seconds long, was charged by Jawed Karim, one of the founders of the site.

This popular video hosting site was created in California, USA, by engineers Chad Hurley, Jawed Karim and designer Steve Chen, three former employees of PayPal, and officially launched on February 14, 2005.

In December of that year, YouTube and received daily 50 million visits, and in 2006 went on to become the tenth most visited website in the United States.

With popularity came the difficulties: YouTube owners began receiving complaints and accusations of record companies, who argued that the page loaded music videos implied a violation of copyright.

 Despite the potential legal problems, the October 9, 2006 the site was acquired by Google, to the tune of 1.65 billion dollars. The founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, and 65 company employees kept their jobs.
