Between 2006 and 2013, the number of Internet users in Latin America increased by 47%, according to the report 'The ecosystem and the digital economy in Latin America'.
The popularization of the Internet in the region is mainly due to reduced prices of connectivity services.
Despite these advances, services and applications they have not kept pace connectivity, as the regional average of the hundred most popular sites on the internet are only 26 local and 63% of the traffic is international, mainly to the United States, according to telecommunications expert Raul Katz,
'Not necessarily the public sector will have to invest more, but assign these investments more efficiently, that means creating more visibility for entrepreneurs by funding sources, "he said.
According to Katz, 'we must create the conditions for venture capital investment increased; today venture capital is investing in Latin America 470 million dollars in technology which is very little compared to other regions, "he added.
