The renowned artist and professor at Curtin University in Australia, is to grow an ear on his left arm, to be connected to Internet.

He famously known for its biotech performances, Stelarc, an artist and professor of the Australian city of Perth, is cultivating an ear on his left forearm, with the ultimate goal of connecting to the Internet. His idea was born in 1996, although it took more than ten years to put together the team of professionals ready to do it.

Experts from around the world participated in the experiment, which succeeded in inserting a subcutaneous artificial matrix on his arm. After six months, tissues and blood vessels began to develop around the ear. The next step is to achieve greater dimensionality, setting off the ear of the arm, and the lobe develop from stem cells Stelarc himself.

Finally, the ear will be inserted a miniature microphone, which automatically connects to the Internet. "This ear is not for me, I already have two good to hear. It's a remote listening device for people who are in other places," says the professor. Furthermore, the ear can be traced through a worldwide GPS.

According says Stelarc, the microphone will be connected all the time, no switch to turn it on or off. "If I'm not at a point of access Wi-Fi, or turn off the modem home, then maybe you are offline. But in reality, the idea is to try to keep the ear online all the time," she explains .
